Electric lock relay location?
I have a schematic for the locks wiring diagram. I don't know exactly what the lock relay looks like, but I know what color all the wires are. The problem is that all the wires all enter the double sided door jam and disappear and I have not been able to find the relay, (which I believe is shot), anywhere.
Does anyone know where to look for the relay, please. |

Re: Electric lock relay location?
There is no relay for the power locks on a 2 door pickup.

Re: Electric lock relay location?
OK my schematic says that there is indeed a relay. I have working power at the switch an no power at the motor. Somewhere in between the switch and the door there is a blockage.
The wires for both the switch and the door go into the door jam and completely disappear. I know what dolor they are but cannot trace them back to any source. Where do those wires go? thanks Larry |

Re: Electric lock relay location?
There are not any lock relays on your truck. You are using the wrong diagram.
The wires come through the cab above the kick panel on each side. You might have to remove the kick panel to see them. |

This is the best I can do for the diagram.

Re: Electric lock relay location?
What are you working on???????
Try to be more specific. The suburban and crew cab trucks use a relay for the power locks. The two door and extended cab trucks do NOT use a relay for the door locks.

Re: Electric lock relay location?
An 89 in suburban or crew cab would be the square body style, and since he said half ton, we can rule out crew cab.
