DJM suspension and Why I think I should get CPP control arms with 2" drop spindles

I have a lowered shortwide with a complete DJM kit (upper, Lower control arms yada yada yad). The problem with the kit is the upper control arms are not long enough for the lower drop control arms. I had to machine a massive 1/2 inch think spacer on top of at least an inch of shims to get the alignment nailed on it. I've checked between my frame and another square body frame to see if my frame had collapsed on itself or had some previous damage I wasn't aware of. Turns out they both measured the same. So at this point, I believe that I will be taking the control arms off and putting a set of nice CPP control arms on with a 2 or 3" drop spindle and do something with the ugly powder coated drop coil as well. I thought I share with you guys my experience with DJM and help you guys that want to do a 5/6 drop on your square body trucks in the future and to also see if you guys have come into the same situation as I have.

I would avoid any 'dropped' a-arm.

Spindles & mild drop springs are a much better option. If you plan on possibly going to bags in the future & are dropping coin for some arms, Porterbuilts a-arms can be used w/coils now & then bags would bolt right in later.

I thought DJM had problems with their upper arms cracking? You could move the lower balljoint in if you know how to fab or maybe a shop could do it cheap for you.

CPP would be a nicer set up though.

yeah I don't have the space to do anything to my truck. it's actually no where near me now since I moved to dfw . those porterbuilt arms sound like an option though. I haven't been to keen on doing bags though since its expensive to get a kit. Theres a number of things that need to be fix on it before I deem it drivable again. brakes, wilwood master cylinder and adjustable prop valve, steering box and pump control arms, spindles, either blast and powder coat the coil or buy new and there may be a few other things

I had a mishap when driving it into storage. guy ran a redlight, brakes locked up and swung the back end around and it almost got wraped around a pole on my side. luckily nothing got scratched or damage. Brakes have been all or nothing since I rebuilt the motor with a cam that produces a low vacuum signal so I'm going manual brakes with a new prop valve.
