Steering box.
Got a 68 and I want to know if you can make a later steering box work. I wanting to try to get a tighter steering radius

Should be the same to 72 but I have heard of some guys using late 70's and early 80's.. Most yards can cross refrence them for you

a later steering box is not going to change the turning radius of your truck !! it will change the amount of effort and feel but not the radius

To change the turning radius of your truck the box will not do this. You would need to change the spindle stop on the lower control arm or the stop on the spindle. I have never done this and don't know if it's a good idea or not. You would have to make sure that you don't create a clearance problem or cause your steering to over-center and cause you to crash. If it works I would try it too.
