How wide and how many leafs do you have on front end? (mine is 3/4 ton 4x4)
I am trying to spec new leaf springs and I have 2 up front being 3" wide at rear spring eye. Supplier says replacements are 2.5" and my choice of 2 or 3 leaf. I need new shackles and bushings too. These span frame with shackle. Does the leafs on 4x4 pickup mount this way too?

Please help, pics might help.

Also who has torque specs for new body mount/ bushings?

Bob, I will be in Chico mid week and be back here sometime Saturday. If you want, I can check the Chico "pick a Part" for the 16" wheels you are looking for.. Let me know. Im taking the 71 Cheyenne after I get the front end aligned at Les Schwab Wednesday Morning. Im hoping for a trouble free 500 mile round trip!

We have two 72 Burb 4x4's, (one is just a chassis) and the spring setups look just like the trucks/Blazers. Both are 1/2 ton but the 3/4 ton front springs look just like the 1/2 ton springs. There could be a difference in the spring rate but the differences are not obvious.

Anyway, here are the measurements of the two setups, one is an
original and one is a replacement.

Replacement- 2 1/2" wide from one end to the other, (4)
leafs

Original- 3" wide at the ends tapering to 2 1/2" in the middle,
(2) leafs

According to the GM master parts catalog they differences were in the spring counts and not the spring rates. Example the 3/4 ton rear springs came in 7 leaf for heavy duty and five leaf for standard 3/4 ton. The fronts were 2 leaf standard and 3 leaf for heavy duty. It would also appear that the pickups and Suburbans, used the same springs. I also just answered your email Bob, sorry it took so long..

I'm not 100% sure if I remember right, but I think that my 'burb's springs are 3" on the ends, 2 1/2" in the middle and 2 leafs ('72 1/2 ton).

I appriciate the info. I talked with a supplier and they mentioned the 2.5" at middle and 3" at ends. I was just worried that the bushing and shackle wouldn't span the frame rail at rear of front spring but it sounds like it would. I think I will order the 3 leaf front offered and what they called they 5 over 1 in rear instead of the 4 over 1. My stock ones are 2 leaf in front and 5 in rear. I could accept a little taller than stock and slightly stiffer. If anyone else has more info. to support above than would be good too.

Phillip, don't go out of your way on wheels, if I can't find reasonable ones local I will just put truckp on block while I refinish and re-tire the ones I have.
