Question Engine/transmission mounting

I would like your opinions.

In my '63 I have engine mounts, bellhousing mounts and a transmission mount. Are all three necessary? Can I do away with the transmission mount?
Is having all three detrimental or is there no impact?
Greg.

Re: Engine/transmission mounting

all that is required and works quite well is a 3 point mounting setup. sounds like someone has installed a later manual trans that had a rear trans mount. not required as you have the bellhousing mount. what you have is like someone wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time;you shouldn't have all of those mounting points. eliminate either the rear trans mount or the b/housing mounts. you don't have to remove the crossmember, just take the insulator out
