Big block engine code E high perform.

I have been trying to figure out this big block engine. It sounds really mean rough idle like it should be in a race car.But when you get on it it is really flat. So I check the timing and rebuilt the distributor .Still the same.The motor showed low vacuum 13 at idle.So I decided to pull it and do some investigating.I got the cam out it is a Erson 20h I can,t find any specs on that number.Inside the timing chain cover the block has a E and a high perf 6 stamped in it The casting numbers on the back check out as a 72 402 2 bolt main. Just wondering if anybody out there has found this.

All older big blocks say "high perf" under the timing cover, don't know how long that lasted. Might have been easier to cast them that way, than to remove it for stocker blocks. My 68 396 says same....
