Photochop + opinions

Here it is, my 86 chevy. Now how much should it be lowered. Also a photoshoped photo to see how it looks with the rockers on the ground would be good.

The way I see it is you have two options. You can static drop it 5/7 or you can bag it. Anything less on these trucks is not hardly worth the trouble....

Realistically, on a daily driver like mine, how does a 5/7 ride?
N2TRUX, it looks like yours is at least 5/7, so how does it ride?

If it is done properly, with good quality shocks, and 45 series tires it should ride just fine. The 77 in my avatar is bagged. That is not all the way down either. It gets a little lower than that....

I think 4/6 looks great, especially since mine is at this height.

So Ken, you saying I wasted my time.

4/6 looks good and is REALLY drivable. 5/7 looks better and im sure is still pretty drivable. I like my 4/6 I have plenty of clearance for any speedbump you throw at me.

Ok, I knew I would probably step on toes here. No, Mike I think your truck looks awesome. I guess I need to explain my thoughts more often.

What I'm saying is most people start with a small drop, and then later want more, then a little more...etc. If you are going to drop it, go for it the first time. It saves so much time and money. That's what I meant by a waste of time!

Some people won't agree with that, and that's cool. I like really low trucks. I have driven them on a daily basis more miles in a week than most people average in a couple of months. I know what it like to drive a really low truck all day long, so I speak from experience.....

What about shocks? Which ones give the best ride and longest life with a lowered ride?

If someone wants to use those wheels on your truck, it might give you a good idea of what to expect. BTW- that truck is bagged, but it's probably close to what 5/7 looks like....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Yeah, that belongs to a buddy of mine N2Billet. It's the stock paint with a touch of primer added for spice. The wheels are 18 & 20 Budnik Famosa's that were on my 82 Blazer. He was testing them out to see if he liked them.

The truck is sitting in his garage with the bed off, waiting for body work. The wheels are sitting in my garage waiting for a new owner....

Here's my addition. Lost the toolbox, rear bumper, and side trim. Also lost the door handles and front side markers. Gave it a little drop too. Another photo for your gallery.....
