Yet another little issue/question...

Hey again all,

I've been noticing another issue with my truck that's been showing up lately, I can't get an accurate fuel level reading, it'll go from full, to empty, to a quarter, to 3/4 then back to full in under a minute, and it repeats this cycle in random fashion every 10 minutes or so, is it just the fuel sloshing around in the tank, or do I have an issue?

Sounds like a shaky ground wire.

I agree with Gibson, it sounds like a loose wire somewhere. Your ground reference is a taco shaped metal plate with 6 tabs on it for various systems to ground to. It's mounted to the left of your E-brake pedal on the sheet metal. See if this is loose or rusting. You can also take out your instrument cluster and check the pins in the back of the cluster for corrosion or damage. But my money is on the ground reference.

If you don't find anything out of order on the ground reference under the dash, check the ground that comes off the sending unit back on the tank. Make sure it is really clean on both ends.

Seems that if it were the ground wire the gauge should be spiking to full+. I would lean toward the gauge itself. Fill you tank up and see how the gauge behaves.
