52-59 outside door handle picture request

Would someone with a truck of this vintage mind posting some pictures of your exterior door handles? I'm particularly interested in a picture from the front or back looking at it. Wondering if they mount perpendicular to the door skin or if they're angled to match the contour of the door. Also interested in how they mount and if the doors have reinforcement plates where they mount.

I'm looking at trying to use them in a different application, thanks!

Yes, that screw does go in at an angle..

The protection plate is just sitting there, it's not screwed in.

It's FROM....... a '55-'59 Chevy truck!

Seriously, the handle is stock. I don't know if the scratch protector was factory original or after market back in the day.

Well technically I'm not working on it yet, still gathering parts. I also need to finish mine up first, but that's coming along.



1949 Willys truck for my dad. Might do a CLR wash on the outside, and make the inside respectable. He comes up with too many excuses not to drive his Chevelle, so I want to build him something that he can drive most days.

Parts collection includes:

• Speedway MII with Paul Horton crossmember

• 5.3 and 4L60

• Explorer 8.8 (though this may be replaced with Thunderbird 8.8 IRS)

• Willys Jeepster Grille trim

• Leather back seat out of Suburban

• Off brand tilt column

• EZ wiring harness

• S10 rear leaves

• Ford Explorer spare steel wheels

• 55 Chevy pu door handles

Willys door handles are often times broken and reproductions are not available....and these are broken. The doors are pretty much flat. This is why I was asking about pictures of the handles, as I don't want them to tip down when installed and I want to do minimal modification to that beautiful paint! I also want to use them with bear claw latches and 52-59 handles have worked pretty well with that style of latch.
