tail light bezels
I am trying to put the chrome tail light bezels on my 72 gmc pickup and I have no idea how the clips work. I purchased the clips from chevyduty.com. Is there some secret or do I have the wrong clips? Are the clips really needed? Can I just drill holes and put the bezels on without the clips? Thank you.

The clips slip into the taillight bezels (they have a springy arm which holds them in place). The bezels then can be put on the truck (the clips snap into holes in the body). Finally two sheet metal screws secure things. I think putting the bezels on without the clips would not be secure enough. I've successfully used the clips from Chevy Duty.

I've done it, and it is a PITA. I was thinking of putting a drop of super glue in htere to help keep the clip secured, but I didn't have any on hand so i scrapped the idea.
Don't worry, your fingers will stop bleeding...eventually.

i recently did mine ... be patient and line everything up really careful prior to making the final snap in ...i score 2 gm bezels on ebay for 15 bucks

I've never had any problems putting the clips or the bezels on, but taking them off is another story...

I have to agree with Badpeanut, I just put new ones on my truck and all you have to do is line the clips up with the holes then snap the whole piece in at once, like they say take it slow. Getting them off is a real pain
