I went with it's bigger brother, the 572, but the install is the same. Use the big block frame stands and it will drop right in. The only other thing will be moving the trans mount, which really can't be done with the cab on the truck unless you are lucky enough to have the rivets replaced with bolts by a previous owner. A stock rad won't keep it cool either unless your truck was originally a 396 or 454.

It will be the greatest kick in the backside you have ever had if you do it. I run 275 60 VR-17's on the rear and that truck will lay twin black marks that are longer than a football field!

The truck all apart. Bare frame right now. I have a set of the big block frame stands. Have a PRC rad with dual ele fans. Been shopping for the best price. What kind of Trans are u running?

Johnny Winter (JWRacing) built turbo 400 backed up with a Gear Vendors overdrive. You will likely need to have a larger clutch assembly like mine did (7 sprags vs 5). I would not use any other trans and certainly not a stock trans. The motor is rated at 650 ft-lbs of torque and there isn't much that will stand up to it unless you go with a four speed or a viper six speed. Your 502 will be a bit less torque but still more than a TH350, or 700R can take.

The picture shows the trans crossmember moved back to the rear set of factory holes. You may not have to drill your frame, but I tyhink that Gear Vendors unit is 4 inches longer than the stock tailpiece.
