72 K5 factory under dash speaker

Does anyone know where I could find the speaker that mounts under the ac controls in a blazer? I would take one even if it did not work. I have purchased a factory AM-FM radio that has been restored and now I am trying to find the correct speaker. Thanks

The speaker needed for the Blazer under dash speaker is the 4x10 Oval. This is an exact reproduction speaker. It has the correct Ohm needed to work with the factory radios. I have one and it is very high quality. You will still need to find the under dash mounts, which are not reproduced.

Hope this helps

Re: 72 K5 factory under dash speaker

I've used two of his repro speakers in 72 pickups and they sound a lot better than a NOS speaker I installed. Dillrod, was your Blazer originally equipped with an underdash speaker? Some had the speaker mounted up under the dash just like pickups.

Re: 72 K5 factory under dash speaker

Deadhead, my K5 did not come with a radio but it came with ac. It does not have the speaker grill in the top of dash. I am putting a factory am-fm in it and I want to put the factory speaker where they come from factory under the AC controls. I don't know if the same speaker that BKSS67 is talking about is the same size as the one I want or not. Do either one of you know for sure or not. The pictures I have seen of blazer under dash speakers appear to be about 7 inches long instead of 10. I think I can make the brackets. I really do appreciate all the help. Thanks

The 4x10 oval is what you need . I agree you could probably make the L shaped brackets but you will still need a factory speaker grill for the under dash speaker. The speaker doesn't come with one and I don't think it is reproduced

That same speaker was used in several GM vehicles, nova, skylark etc.
