Here we go again

Well I was going to sell the old 72 GMC 3/4 as it was no longer getting the TLC and use...so much for that as I just went deeper in...

Just bought a 71 GMC half ton for cheap with a solid cab and panels with just the box floor rusted. Motor and all works, frame is solid. A good driver as it sits

So now it is time to make the 3/4 into a solid truck by swaping the bondo, patched, rusted panels for the solid ones plus all the TLC bits. Cab will need rockers, floor patches and cab mounts redone (will keep the other cab and chassis ...another build... or sell it after I take the good bits )

I really shouldn't have stopped and chatted with another GMC owner

Now I just need a bad ass power plant with big torque numbers and a tranny to back it up. Hummm Big Block.....

72 pics attached. Will get some 71 pics this weekend

Re: Here we go again

I'm confused....

If this one runs and drives why wouldn't you just fix any small stuff it might need and drive it instead of tearing it apart. Then you will have two of them apart sitting in the yard.....

Just a thought.

Re: Here we go again

Pictures are deceiving....
I want a solid 3/4, not a patched one. If i am going to invest in a paint job I want to start with clean no rust panels to which the 71 has.
Bottom line is a half ton chassis is of no use to me so it is take the best of 2 to make one....then someone else can make the best of the left overs to remake the other or another.
