Lightbulb cutting out front wheel wells on my 78 bad idea?

I've got these wheels and tires but I'm afraid with the front end drop it has they will rub when I turn or maybe even rub up top. Is it a bad idea or just a dumb quick fix? Please enlighten me .Thanks

Btw the guy before cut a coil out to drop it....I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing.

Are those front tires bigger than the rear tires? When I saw the title I assumed we were talking about a 4x4. I'd be careful cutting your fenders on a nice truck.

These are the wheels and tires going on her this weekend. Just afraid they'll rub. Had to turn loose of wheels in pictures truck was bought without them. Plus the rear tire were bald I mean really bald. My 17s have like new tread so it kind of worked out except the front of this truck has a pretty decent drop I'm guessing at least 2 inches maybe.

Since you asked, I think its a dumb quick fix to remove the inner fenders. Lift the front of the truck back up some or to stock height. Try on the wheels so you know what you need to do.

Thanks John, I'll just be able to replace the springs and then at stock height I belive I should be fine for clearance. Thanks again....I'm new to this rebuild stuff and my dad even being a veteran gear head and absolute awesome mechanic and body man....well he's not got much time for advice or help for that matter so all advice is appreciated.
