Front sway bar frame brackets
Hello, Its back to school know so he is still driving the truck tell winter then we will be doing some work on it. Just have to find a place to store the Chevelle so his truck can sit in the garage. Our question is he got a sway bar from pic n pull from a 73 dually, but we didn't have away to get the frame brackets off. (So after finding out how hard it is to find a set of factory ones for sale) we are looking at a set that are for a lowered truck but his isn't lowered yet, but will be someday. Can we use these on the truck even if it is stock or should we wait until it is lowered?

Re: Front sway bar frame brackets
I had the brackets for lowered trucks on my non-lowered truck since 2005 with no problems and really liked the fact that you cant see the sway bar when you use those brackets. I got the brackets and polyurethane bushing from ECE and never had asqueaking problem over the years. As a sidenote the difference in handling is phenominal when you add a front sway bar and I think yours being from a 1 ton will be a 1 1/4 inch which is the biggest size.

Re: Front sway bar frame brackets
Kool good to know, just wasn't sure so we thought we would ask. And yes it is 1 1/4 he was so excited to have found a 1 1/4 one at the pic and pull. We don't see much old stuff out here at the pic and pull that we go to so it was a score in our eyes.

Re: Front sway bar frame brackets
Here is a pic of my truck ( I sold it a few weeks ago ) with the 1 1/4 front sway bar and brackets for lowered trucks installed. As you can see, the sway bar is not visible. One last tip if get the polyurethane bushings ( and you should ) make sure you use the supplied lube liberally on them otherwise after awhile they will start squeaking when they are working.

Re: Front sway bar frame brackets
Mine has the lowered brackets from Early Classic on a non lowered truck as the stock brackets that came with my swaybar had decidely seen better days both having been welded up at some point. No problems at all and dead easy to fit.
