Gmc to chevy
Hey guys if I had a 68 gmc and wanted it to be a chevy what would I have to change? I have chevy emblems, front grille and rad support, tailgate, but is there anything different on the inside?

Re: Gmc to chevy
...Why
Keep it the way it was made, the GMC's are getting harder to find

I've got one that was converted GMC to Chevy and I'm working on changing it back to GMC.

Re: Gmc to chevy
I'm ONLY looking for a GMC. I like them better. They got the grille right and left it. Chevy kept messing with it and never figured it out. I had a 64 GMC in high school that I made into a Chevy, but I was incapable of seeing the beauty of being unique at that age.
If you really want a Chevy, get one. I'm sure someone on the board would do a trade.

Four Eyes baby..Grown Man's Chevy. That cross-hair grill was so classic Dodge stole it.

Re: Gmc to chevy
GMCs rule. Actually I don't think there's even factions on the board, everyone tolerates either. Even though these aren't rare, I wouldn't mess one up to make a Chevy out of a GMC. Probably hurt it at resale, but you plan to keep it forever do whatever!
From what I understand before 1967 GMCs were actually 'more different' from the Chevrolets, but by the '67 style they were just badge engineered. I still think that GMC today with their whole "Professional Grande" should actually be different. Sort of like how my 3/4T longhorn uses 1T parts here and there they could upgrade the GMC 1/2 tons with 3/4 ton parts and make it a heavy half. Then there'd actually be a marketing difference other than the grill. Charge 10% more in the base price than the Chevy. The GMCs would eventually acquire a reputation for extra durability and they could maintain the price premium.

Re: Gmc to chevy
Those 4 headlight GMC's don't do anything for me. If you're changing it to Chevy make it a 67-68 ;-)

Re: Gmc to chevy
Just remember that while the GMCs and the Chevys may be assembled by the exact same people, in the exact same factory, on the exact same line, with almost exactly the same parts and minus a few body panels and badges are indistinguishable from each other, even by experts, the GMCs are better than the Chevys in every way.
