How much oil in a 327 engine?
The book says 6 qts. The 327 came with a canister oil filter. My 327 has a spin on filter. Someone changed it to take the spin on filter. It takes 5 qts then it shows full. Did the canister filter take 1 qt more?

As long as you got 5 qts in there and its reading full I wouldn't worry about it.5 qts is plenty.

they make a 2 quart spin on napa # fil 1794 and a cheaper version # SFI 21794 gives you better filtration and oil cooling then you would be back at 6 qt.
