I got the blower motor going, but...
Okay, so after replacing the blower motor, the resistor and the fan switch/control cable on my Thrift Air setup, I now get three fan speeds and all the flaps are moving as they should. So why isn't there any air coming out of anywhere?
http://youtu.be/hfqt7lb0dXY I'm thinking that maybe there is a mouse nest in there somewhere. I'm not finding any obvious blockages in the hoses going to the defroster ducts. While I'm sure this is an effective system for the time, though not quite up to modern standards, I'm sure there should be more air moving than this. |

Are you sure the flap is opening? Have you gone under the dash and checked it or watched the cable operate the door? Is it possible to put the fan cage on backwards ? My 1966 works very well and blows pretty good.

Re: I got the blower motor going, but...
I remember that the blower would not work on my truck when I got it. I thought about swapping out the blower motor but decided to just swap the whole thing since I had another one. When I took the heater unit off it was packed full of leaves from over 48 years. I am happy it didn't turn on.. Also are you pulling the knob out?

Re: I got the blower motor going, but...
Some of the fans turn the opposite direction as well. When I was shopping for a non-stock replacement, I found that only Pontiac Fiero and Chevy S10 fans turned the direction I needed. I went with the Fiero as they are mounted in the trunk and always look like new. Just something to consider for others that may have problems.
