How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
I need some misc parts that aren't rare (ie: not metric speed warning) but that also aren't reproduced. For example I need a seat adjuster knob, but no one has ever answered my or others' WTB ads.
So I figure I need to be more proactive and directly ask people that are parting out trucks, but I don't want to spam every vendor... are there vendor members known to part out a lot of trucks? Thanks, Dave

Re: How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
Thanks folks! I found Brothers has a seat knob (listed for bench but some have said its the same for buckets), but there are still a lot of random stuff I need, so appreciate the pointer in the right direction.

What Tom said...You also might check with Cash3481 and Specialtyretail.
You also might check with Bob. He lives a couple miles from me and parts a lot of trucks. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/pts/4616664013.html

Re: How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
AI found a local dismantler for our body style truck. I can pm you his info. I got a chance to go up and see his operation. Lots of great parts and tje guy knows his stuff. He said he had been a member but I would rather pm his info. I don't wish to earn any heat from the mods for posting it up.

Re: How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
Thanks Willie for the endorsement.
davepl, Many people that part trucks also work on their trucks too so it hard to see what everyone needs in the WTB section. When we are parting trucks it becomes VERY difficult to just pack and ship out parts and keep it all straight. I'm not making excuses for not seeing your add just adding to the conversation. I hope you find what you need, I'll try to do better at checking that section moore often too. Good luck with your build!

Re: How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
Davepl, the seat knob, buying new was your best bet, they do not come off very easy. Sorry for not checking the WTB section, as was said above its gets a little busy doing our for sale threads. This board is a great place and alot of super guys on here. I'll try to help if I have anything you need.
Thanks to you other guys for the nice words about us vendors!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How do I reach vendors that are parting out trucks?
Dave,
The parts board can get very busy and your thread will get pushed back a page or two very quickly and out of sight. I would suggest sending a PM with a list of parts your looking for to some of these guys listed above. I bought parts from many of these guys over the yrs and have had great success and great dealings with most all of them ! Tll74 T korinek Teeitup Are three of the best I have delt with, and there's many others! Gary
