Cab mount bushings
Going to replace the cab mounts while I do my cab swap. Who makes the best. I figure rubber over poly, but not sure. Also should I go ahead and get new hardware too?

Re: Cab mount bushings
Rubber will ride nicer than poly but won't last as long. I would definitely recommend getting new hardware as well, at least the bolts. If your cups are fine, go ahead and reuse them. I got my cab mount bushings through a local shop that deals in replacement panels for classic cars and trucks. If I remember right, they were way cheaper than LMC and they worked great. But if you can't find any locally, you may be stuck using LMC, Brothers, or Classic Parts. Check the vendors here also, they're great to work with and they can often get you a better product for a better price.

Re: Cab mount bushings
Unfortunately there isn't anything local other than the known chain stores. I looked at lmc and they had two different complete mount kits for 2 different prices. Assumed one was rubber other was poly. Plan to redo all mounts while I'm going to have everything loose. Definitely gonna get with the forum vendors before I order anything

Re: Cab mount bushings
They also list it differently for 73-80 and 81-87. I would just get with one of the forum vendors, tell them what you have, and they'll hook you up with what you need.

Re: Cab mount bushings
Sure is! Wow, someone local. I wish I still had my truck. Actually I wish I was still back in America. I'm stuck on this little island we like to call Okitraz (Okinawa) with the marine corps for a while.

Re: Cab mount bushings
Well, that's hard to say. How long did they last before you deemed they needed replaced? If I had to make a guess, I'd say around 15 years at least.

Re: Cab mount bushings
Just thought I would put a link to the Prothane poly ones we sell, which have a hint of graphite in the them for the black colored ones. I don't have a source for rubber ones, but Classic Parts would be a good source for rubber.
