Need a pic of parking brake cable mount

Does the parking brake cable outer shielding mount to the parking brake assembly at all? In my case I have it just coming through the firewall grommet and connected the inner cable to the clevis/pin part.

This in turn has bent the outer cable where it mounts to the inner fender to almost a 90 degree angle, so something's not right.

I'm thinking that I'm missing a clamp or something, but rather than invent something I'm hoping someone can snap a photo under the dash. Any foot-brake truck should do!

Thanks,
Dave

Yep. And now I know what the piece is for too, it's in my "not sure" pile. :-) Thanks very much!

On my truck when I took it apart that rubber section was crushed between the cab and the frame. Assembly error at the factory, I assume. I did not replicate it when I put it back together, I did like the photos above.

For what it's worth... cables are the originals and routing is as original.

Re: Need a pic of parking brake cable mount

Thanks very much folks. My park brake was not (as you can imagine) inspiring much confidence, as it was missing this crucial mounting point. I've now installed it and the pedal is great - only can travel a little more than half way, no brake drag, the pedal pops strongly back on release, and it locks the wheels hard when applied.

Couldn't ask for more! Well, except maybe for having done it right in the first place...

You're welcome Dave. I hope you can hit the open road in that beauty soon!

Re: Need a pic of parking brake cable mount

Anyone know where I can pick up the retainer in the first picture? I seem to have lost mine over time and now I am in need of a parking brake for state inspection. Thanks.

Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Need a pic of parking brake cable mount

Junkyard would be my first place to check.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
