I would say the cut off (pic #2) looks like your truck was a clutch before and someone just cut or torched off the pedal and linkage assembly rather than disassembling it to remove it.

I am not positive on the picture 3...I have one on the powerglide column I put into my stick truck. I would say I think it is the reverse light connector and if memory serves me right, I think that the green wire you are talking about is the wire for the reverse lights, but with the connector for a manual tranny truck.

looks like you used to have a manual tranny in your truck, those pieces that have been cut off used to be the clutch pedal. The black thing on the column is the nuteral saftey switch. Can you start your truck in gear? If so then you might wanna hook it up. The green wires also go to it but should be for a backuplight.

That blk box at the end of your steering is your back-up light/newtral safty switch. That green wire might plug in the switch

Your backup lights will work if you hook up the green connector to the black thing on the column. This black thing is a switch which houses backup switch and neutral safety switch.
