Air Conditioning Compressor clutch not engaging...

So, I just went and bought a recharge/retrofit kit for my A/C, and it now has a full charge and no leaks, but I have discovered that my A/C compressor clutch isn't engaging when the lever is turned to "max" or any other settings, what are the potential causes? It was working maybe 3 months ago, but I am suspicious about a possible blown fuse? There are no fuse block diagrams that look like mine, and half the lettering on it is either work off or unreadable/not understandable... Hopefully I can find an answer... next after this, heater!

Re: Air Conditioning Compressor clutch not engaging...

I do remember lubricating it at one point because it was making a horrendous grinding noise, but it still worked after that point, and only just today did I notice it wasn't rotating...

How did you manage to get a full charge in there if the compressor wasn't engaging?

Grinding isn't good. First comes grinding, then the compressor locks up.

It's not the "locking up," it doesn't lock up... the clutch isn't engaging with the compressor pulley. And on the topic of the pressure, it pressurized according to the gauge, I am not sure exactly how much is or isn't in there, but I just found a completely melted plug sitting loosely behind the compressor body, with a green and black-ish wire in it. Is that the electrical component required to engage/disengage the clutch?

Yes, one green wire one black wire.

So that's the only issue... I will get that sorted, and everything should work! Thanks for the tips, though!
