Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
then my wife got the squarebody bug and wanted her own truck so I dragged out a truck I had previously brought for parts and decided it could be resurrected but the cab was rusted out and it was realy onley a chassis and gearbox in the end so I hunted out a good cab and struck gold from a guy who pulled it from a c30 chassis to fit a 50s cab for a transporterhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299326&stc=1&d=14101840http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299328&http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...d=141018404848

Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
then I had to find a drive line I had the old 305 from my Camaro burnout car I had rebuilt many years ago and had sat under a bench since it was replaced with a big block the plan with this truck is to keep everything tame to get it road registered then 6 in body lift and 35s for a few years as my wife has ms and as she can still climb up it may as well be lifted.
when the ms gets worse it will go down on bags eventualy.as she hasent had much luck with carbed engines in the past I decided on a tpi setup to make it trouble free for herhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299330&shttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299331&stc=1&d=1410185284tc=1&d=141http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299332&stc=1&d=14101852840185284http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299333&stc=1&d=1410185284 |

at the same time she decided on the same color as my dually so I got busy on the body and hit my tub and her cab at the same timehttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299334&stc=1&d=1410185848http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=12993http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299336&stc=1&d=141018584835&stc=1&d=1410185848

Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
any way back on topic
the c20 got a colour change as well and we had to widen the temporary tray to cover the tyreshttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299730&stc=1&d=1410258833http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299731&stc=1&d=1410258833 |

Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
whyle the spraygun was hot I decided to get rid of the beige on my truck and improve the dismal forward lighting and fit some new valve covers as wellhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299732&stc=1&d=1410259658http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299733&stc=1&d=1410259658http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299734&stc=1&d=1410259658

Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
I decided to take the c30 on a quick 1000km test run with some mates.
apart from a broken flare on a trans cooler line (looped the 1 good line around bypassing cooler) and the harmonic balancer separating and causing some mayhem it did well and made it home unscathedhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299744&stc=1&d=1410261141http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299745&stc=1&d=1410261141http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/attachment.php?attachmentid=1299746&stc=1&d=1410261141 |

Re: 86 cc dually and 81 c20 build
I realy love the single cab duallys you have over there so I found a dually tub and got to work
I could onley get the trim for the tub and any trim at all is almost impossible here so I decided to keep the back trim and paint the front trim on instead of deleateing it altogether if anyone has done the dual wheel conversion im thinking of using a 2in adapter as my drums don't clear a stock 16in dually wheel |
