Suburban rear A/C install ?

I'm going to retrofit my 71sub with a rear overhead A/C unit I scored at a local wreching yard.

Does anyone have any experience running the two hoses under the chasis and up to the overhead evaporator & blowers in the rear ?

Am I going to have issues running 134 such a long distance ---probably about 15 ft one way ? In other words, will my setup not be as efficient ? Should I use a "bigger" compressor / condessor ?

Thanks

Ev

There is a good routing diagram in the truck assembly manual that I would suggest that you get a copy of. It shows routing, holes, clamp mountings and more.

I believe that you will need more than 15' of each hose. If I remember right it is like 24'. I can measure our hoses if no one confirms the dimension.

Not sure on the compressor as we don't have the Burb back together yet.

Thanks Jim !

I have a pair of OEM hoses I took from the donor sub --- I'll have to just measure those and buy a new set.

I had all new hoses made up with hydraulically crimped "O" ring fittings and eliminated the hose clamp/barb setup as I was concerned about leakage.
