2015 colorado/canyon
I have been itching for a while for a small pickup i can use during the week as well as on the weekend. now GM has started announcing details about the second gens. apparently the v6 model is estimated to get 26 highway mpg while pushing 300 hp. although personally im waiting for the specs on the 4cyl turbo diesel. whats going to make or break the deal for me is towing capacity for the weekends and mpg for the trip to work.
does anyone else have any thoughts on the subject? Im sure sure most of you would prefer the full size duramax, i would too, but thats an argument the wife refuses to lose lol..

I'm interested. Been reading up on them for a while. They should be in dealerships soon. The diesel seems like a good alternative to a full size 1/2 ton for towing.

Question: Man or Mouse, or just sure that it would be cold in the dog house? LOL

Re: 2015 colorado/canyon
I'm waiting to hear two things:
price (just noticed they actually have a price range now. The diesel may double the current price after options.) turbo diesel MPG/towing capacity The Colorado has been running in Australia for a few years, and they have a diesel model. Different specs, though, so it's not really an apples to apples when estimating MPG. That said, I'm either going to get the Colorado with a turbo diesel, or hunt down a 2006-2007 2500HD The 2500HD has been on my radar a lot longer. I've loved the front end since it was first introduced, and they improved it with the later years removing all that chrome in the middle.

Re: 2015 colorado/canyon
They are not really a 'small truck'... I mean, the pre-production model I saw at an auto show was at least as long as my '65 c10 long bed.
some articles I recalled : https://autos.yahoo.com/news/redesig...183000942.html looks like the 'build a truck' thing is up on chevrolet.com now : http://www.chevrolet.com/colorado-small-truck.html -W |

Re: 2015 colorado/canyon
Got a call that the first Colorado showed up in my region. I went in Saturday and test drove it.
I liked it enough to put in an order for one, so in 8-12 weeks I'll take delivery of my new truck. I weighed the +/- on waiting for the diesel and decided it wouldn't really benefit me any to do so. Diesel is $0.60+ extra per gallon right now, so that cancels out about 5-6 MPG more that could be possible. Not to mention I'm sure there's a cost increase for the diesel. Overall, no real savings. This is replacing my daily driver Subaru WRX. By posted numbers I will take a 1MPG hit, but I also get to save $0.30-40 with standard gas over premium.
