question for Swervin...

Hi Mike ,
I got some trouble three weeks ago , the left lower ball joint went south , broken in two pieces.

I took a look at your site , on the front end section.

My upper ball joint is still in position & seems not have suffered from the accident.

How should I remove the remains of the lower ball joint from the spindle , without having to remove the upper ball joint ?
For the remains of the joint on the control arm , a good heavy hammer should be up to do the job...

I understoud also that the new lower ball joint to be put on the lower control arm has just to be put into place , while my spare parts specialist told me I had better to dismantle that lower arm and put the new joint with a hydraulic press...
What do you think ?

Thanks

the Baron

There is a special tool available for pressing those ball joints in an out. It looks much like a large "C" clamp. Here in the United States you can borrow one from most auto parts stores if you first put down a deposit.

Can get such a ball joint for about $50.00 , presume it is the right price

It looks like this:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=38335

It makes it easy to press the ball joint in and out.

Being bald has it's advantages. One is easier to wash your head. Notice I said head and not hair.

Besides, hair is nothing but body waste anyway. Who wants some stinking body waste on their head.

And Jeremy, god forbid you ever look like that too. You are ugly enough with hair.

Anyway, god didn't create but a few beautiful heads, the rest he covered up with hair. :p
