Is there a how-to in here for motor mount installs?

I suppose it's time to pony up for a Chilton manual.... I ripped the driver's side mount in my '70 GMC w/350V8 and it's not looking like an easy project. I searched here and Google inside and out with no luck

if you want to buy a manual you're better off getting the original factory service manual

motor mounts you just bolt them on in place

I'll second that. Chiltons may be OK for general specs, but is useless for any real detail.

its not easy but it doesnt take a book to do it. Jack up engine an inch-ish on the broken mount side. Unbolt mount. put in new.

It was horrible on my 68 gmc with 327 and power steering. No need for a manul to do it. Just patience and and smaller hands help.

Re: Is there a how-to in here for motor mount installs?

Watch your fingers, please.

I do not know about the small blocks but the mounts for the 1970 big blocks are not available through parts stores, only specialty reproductions, and they're wrong.

I mean they're SO wrong that they're metric. They took a fair bit of modification to get them to work and the through-bolt was not only metric but also too long. Had I not been paying attention it would have punched a hole through my block!

But again, small block might be bada-bing-bada-boom done and out.

Cool, thanks for the advice- I'll use the link you posted. Maybe I'm making a bigger deal than needed.... Both approaches seem impossible whether from above or below
