Carburetor 1967 on straight 6... need help

I have an 1967 C20 that i just bought and I rebuilt the carburetor, lo and behold the previous owner put a motorcraft carter carb on my chevy. It seems that the linkage to the throttle is different. Is there a possible way to make this work? Other than buying a new carb. Some way I have to make the throttle cable go from North to South and change direction to East to West. Is there any parts i can buy at LMC? The last image is from my friend 1972 c10 with Rochester carb. See attachments

I would appreciate anyone's help. I have been stumped on this for awhile.

In that situation I think I would try and find a complete carb and linkage setup. You can check on the parts board or a salvage yard....

Oh, and to the board!

This is a common problem with guys putting 4 barrel carbs on offenhauser intakes on inline 6's.. it changes the carbs from north/south to east/west. The fix for this is a part from Mr.Gasket,, (see link below) I am not sure if this will work for the motorcraft carb and I doubt anyone will know for sure but it might be worth a shot.

THat carb is no different than the monojet your buddy has.
All you need is the short connector from the ball stud to the link arm.

I would suggest looking into putting a cable style throttle set-up off a newer truck if you want to stay with that carb, then fabricating a bracket for the cable to the engine.

Try to find a fairly long cable, as it has to change directions as well. I'd get out the old tape measure, figure out how much engine bay cable you need then go to the u-pull-it.

I believe you can retro-fit from 71/72-mid nineties or even higher. Just make sure the engine bay side is long enough.

Minor fabrication required.
