Hello
this is my new truck. (Kevin) 1969 w/350 four speed. Previous owner had it for 20 years as a work truck. Cheap respray job only a couple years old and already chipping and you can see the blue paint underneath. overall, not bad for 3100 and 500 rounds of .223

Is it worth it to upgrade to 4wd? I live at 3500 ft and snow in the winter. already have a subaru and a F250 4X4. would love to hear input on upgrade of front disc brakes as well...

Also- I really want a tachometer, but I HATE the stupid tuner "race" add-on tachs. how can I install an original-looking tach into the center position above the steering column on the dash?

Cheers

Re: kevin

its fairly involved to swap to 4wd and since you already have a couple...
you can buy the tach conversion from classic heartbeat, brothers, lmc and most of the others. you need the plastic back piece to though.
or you could do something like this. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=519007

Re: kevin

You can put an old school sun tach on the column. That's what I did. I like it because it has that 60's/70's vibe to it. The factory tach is obviously ver nice as well. But I really don't like when people put a big 6" autometer with a big honkin' shift light in an old vehicle.

Re: kevin

Nice truck. I like a nice white LWB truck. Just looks clean. As far as a tach. I installed a 2 1/16" autometer gauge designer black in one of the unused lower dash spots. Matched pretty close, and can still see it easily.

Re: kevin

Kevin. I pulled this mod from the FAQ section. It might be just what you want.

It has a factory look to it too.
