Howdy everyone,
I have just about all the parts needed to swap an 05' lq4/4l80e into my 67 step side, and I was just curious as to what floor shifters y'all were using in your swaps? I've been trying to search through all the threads but can't seem to find anything other than modified B&M truck mega shifters being used?

I'm using a kilduff twisted shifter. Its kind of a strange beast.

I used to use a B&M as mentioned above...also modified for use in these...and its for sale

What all modification was done to the B&M shifter? I might be interested. I don't mind running a B&M shifter in my truck, I was just curious what else was being used out there to see if I could find something a little different. Oh and I'm in love with your truck btw BR3W CITY!

This is a bad pic from during construction, but here is an option for you, if you don't mind building up a console to put it on/in.

TCI Outlaw shifter...works great with my 4L80E

Hey zak I replied to your PM, but just to put the mods out in the open; i started with the regular shifter, and ever so slightly increased the groove on 1st gear (where most generic 4spd shifters tend to not line up is on 1st gear on 4l80es). The arm itself was put in a 50ton press and has a 15*ish bend putting the knob in your hand instead of your knee (or seat).

After that, I did something very easy on any shifter. I found some threaded rod and a coupler, and made 4 and 6" extensions to go further when I switched to bucket seats. It can be run normally, or with as big of an extension as you'd like to use...its quick change

I was using a Geenie floor shifter. The knob was visible above the dash. I had a lot of fun with it and the 80E until I went glide.

I bought the shifter out of a Blazer. Got the cable and all so it would shift right. It has a built in safety feature I really like to! It's all Chevy also!

Thank y'all for all the suggestions and pictures, that's a big reason why I love this site so much. Almost every member I've met has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful, which is awesome for a young guy like me (19) that still has a LOT to learn.

I cut the console to fit and then had the local uphoster do the carpet around it. I thought it turned out nice. I like having all the gears for the over drive. The toggle switch was for the torque converter back when it had the 700 R-4 in it. It's non functional now though.

Lokar trans mount 16". Looks like the old 4 speed it had in it. I had to modify the linkage a bit, otherwise very satisfied.

Percision performance, same brand all the street outlaws use. Its a gate shifter that is street and race friendly!

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
