Louisiana boy living in Iowa!!

Just wanted to introduce myself. Born and raised in Great state of Louisiana, Geaux Saints!!! Moved to Iowa due to my mother having heart issues, and my job was gracious enough to relocate me as they were expanding out here anyway. Since my childhood, made 35 a week ago, I have always wanted to own a classic truck. Well I finally got mine!! '71 K20 I proudly named Beetlejuice.

First I will start by saying I am socially awkward, especially when I type!! My thoughts come out so fast my fingers cant keep up. So I tend to jump around with my thoughts and leave out important details at times.

I am a family man, married for 12 years this Halloween to my lovely and very supportive wife. And we have a 13 year old son who is so ready and excited to help me build this truck. Great family times ahead. I have owned, built, and maintained my personal Harleys with my own hands since 2003. I have been working on vehicles of all kinds since 15, high school job. Electrical, mechanical, audio systems, performance parts, etc. I am by no means professional or certified. Just intermediate skill set and knowing when to ask for help.

Now about the truck. It's black/white red interior. Nothing worked on it when purchased, but the body was in great shape and engine ran great. Since having it, I have installed an American Autowire Classic Update Kit and must say I was 110% pleased with that decision. Super easy to install and now I have no electrical gremlins. Next step is to fix the front diff then replace oil gaskets. After that it's all extras, like audio, side step bars, interior trim pieces, etc. Everywhere I go, the attention it gets is unbelievable. High school boys want to trade their jeeps for it, older gents reminiscing, everyone taking pics.

I have been on this site now for about a month just searching and reading in the background. Much knowledge obtained so far. I hope that if I have any issues, it would be OK for me to ask for help. I have noticed that my truck is Frankentruck. Parts not original all over this thing. I am kinda hoping in the next few weeks that with pics and questions, I can obtain the correct info as to what is on this truck.

Well that's it for now.
Thanks,
Nick
