03 tahoe blower motor

I have an 03 Z71 Tahoe with the automatic climate control and about 3 weeks ago the blower motor would intermittently just shut off. Does not matter what speed the blower is set at nor if the system is set to auto. And now the blower motor intermittently works, spends most of the time off. I have not had a chance yet to look under the dash. I dont smell anything burning but that doesnt necissarily mean anything. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I know it does not have the typical blower resistor because it is the automatic climate control so I am unsure of how to test the blower module. When the blower does turn on it works perfectly fine on all speeds as well as on auto. It doesnt matter if the vehicle is moving or sitting still. The blower will work 1 second and turn off the next.
