Shoulder belt conversion
Hi All,
I just bought the shoulder belts from LMC for my 71 C10. Ready to install them. Is there a trick to get access to the bolts of the existing belt retractor? To I just use brute force to pull the plastic housing up and out of the way? Thanks! |

Re: Shoulder belt conversion
Wiggle back and forth, twist, and pull.

Re: Shoulder belt conversion
Success in replacing one of two today. Stock bolts were extremely stubborn. I don't love the shoulder belts - the straps don't lay flat and and coil mechanism doesn't fit great. But it's in. Passenger side later in the week.
Anyone want a picture of the LMC shoulder belt? Thanks for the help! |

Re: Shoulder belt conversion
Yes. Would like to see it. How is the quality? Does it look and feel like a restoration-grade setup?

Re: Shoulder belt conversion
I'm using Morris Classic http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com...ruck67-72.html The look, fit, and work very good.

Re: Shoulder belt conversion
Here are mine. They lay straight no twists. I think these are LMC. Driver's side had a little less room.
Remember never to mount two points of a belt system to the same bolt. And at the back of the seat I did NOT use a seat bolt, I drilled through the seat mount support plate since it's all reinforced and added a bolt/nut there.
