Porportion valve

I have a '87 burb. I replaced the Porportioning Valve, now I can't get brake fluid past the valve. Any suggestions??

Re: Porportion valve

Reset the valve. Push and hold in the button on the front. It's under the black rubber cap.
You need to keep it held in until you're done bleeding.

Re: Porportion valve

How do you know that?
Do you have any brakes at all?
What else has been done besides changing the prop valve.

Re: Porportion valve

The newer valves don't need to be reset like the older ones.

Re: Porportion valve

Buy or borrow a vacuum bleeder and force fluid in from the bleeder, it should free up.

Cuz it wouldn't push in any. Changed pads and shoes. No brakes at all.

She needs it for work tomorrow, I pulled it back off and put the new one back on. It was just leaking. I'll tackle it again when I get a chance.

I'm trying a vacuum bleeder and got nothing.
