Changing trailing arm crossmember
Can you change to a PB trailing arm crossmember without pulling the cab? Mine will be here tomorrow and was hopeing I could just drive some rivets out and bolt it in. Thanks for the help!

Re: Changing trailing arm crossmember
You can, did mine that way.
Biggest trouble I had was drilling the new holes square to the frame on the top. A heavy duty right angle drill motor would help. |

Re: Changing trailing arm crossmember
Hey guys sorry to bring up this super old thread, but I am curious how you go about drilling out the top rivets when the cab is still on? I want to change my TA crossmember as well but definitely do not want to remove the cab if it isn't 100% required! thx

Re: Changing trailing arm crossmember
Use an air chisel to take the heads of and then drive them out. .

Re: Changing trailing arm crossmember
You can get to them from the bottom side. It is a real pain to do it with the cab on. If you are not saving the old cross member take and cut it off with a sawsall close to the frame to get it out the way and it eases getting to the rivets with the air chisel.
