Throttle Body and Throttle Pos Sensor Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have an 87 R10, but it has a 95 G10 Van motor with a TBI in it. I'm swapping out the throttle body because I think that's my issue. I picked one up at the junkyard the other day. The problem is when I got home the one I picked up has this style of throttle position sensor on it.

Everything else is the same.

This is the one on my truck now:

Is it possible to just change the harness and plug it in? There are three wires going to my old one and there are three prongs in the new plug. Seems like I could go back to the junkyard and grab the plug off of one. Tell me if I'm wrong.
