Trim level Badges 72 Burb

my 72 Burban does not have any fender badges or tailgate badge. Fenders have been filled in, but holes are still in tail gate.

I'd like to get the correct badges for it.

Factory 402/400 factory front and rear air.

I'm guessing Cheyenne package? but its just that a guess..

I ran the VIN on the LMC decoder. didn't tell me anything that wasn't obvious.

CCE162F

Thoughts? Pictures?

If still has spid label it might help you. No Cheyenne on Burb. Custom deluxe is top of the line.

Re: Trim level Badges 72 Burb

Here is what the original tailgate emblem looked like on my 69. I've only been able to find single letter replacements so far, not a triple studed one. If the truck was an original big block it would have had a 400 emblem under the front fender side marker. If you pull off inner fender you could also possibly look where they filled the outer fender and determine if there are 4 holes for a custom10/20 and deluxe below it. Or if there are only 2 holes it would be a custom or cheyenne that would have been mounted

I just looked at your post when you bought it. From the pictures it looks like your door panels are scroll pattern. I bet it was a custom deluxe. If it was only a custom they wouldn't be scrolled. But if there are only 2 holes on the fenders they would have have had wood grain inserts being a cheyenne. All these are assumptions based what's showing on the truck now is original. Good luck.

Thanks for the assistance folks. ya Chevyland, it having the scroll pattern door panels is what made me question the trim level. Thanks for the pic of the back of your gate to! I'm headed to Janesville WI for a swap meet in the morning, hope to land a few emblems for it.
