12 bolt issues. Need advice

I was in the process of cchanging out my rear axles and disc brakes but didn't get too far. I was taking the bolt out of the rear end that hold in the spider gear shaft and the bolt was broken. I still have a little threads in there and cannot drop out the shaft. Has anyone drilled this out in place and tapped it for 3/8? I really don't want to take the whole housing out plus I have to get the axles first. It's a stock rear end. Any advice will help. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and worked on it for days. I ordered one of these kits and had it out in about 15 minutes....

Whatever you do don't drill out for a larger size. Do what LockDoc says, but first spray WD-40 in there and blow it in with compressed air, then repeat that several times so the threads are lubed. Usually they will then come out with an 0-ring pick, but no matter how tempting do not beat on it or use a punch; that can cause agonizing results.
