When you find that piece for your truck...

And you like.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

For me it's a factory tachometer, I've been looking high and low and was about to break down and buy one from lmc.

Found it plugged it in and boom it works

No more gigantic gas gauge reminded me of how much I'm using now I have a tach to watch the needle jump up and down.

The housing piece where the shift selector is broken but I think I have a fix for that

Nice! I know how it goes! When I first started building my truck, I looked forever for nice sport mirrors and a factory Diesel emblem for the grille. Was pretty excited when I finally got them.

I have been hoarding stuff for a while, building the truck I have wanted to for a long time. I get that same feeling every time I drag something out of the attic!

Re: When you find that piece for your truck...

I searched for awhile looking for a nice set of power mirrors from a conversion van for my short box project-hard to find good, non faded plastic trim band with a good rubber base seal it seems. When I found a set in a junkyard finally I got so excited I left to go mock them up on my doors! Its great when "that one piece" finds its way to you! Lol

Re: When you find that piece for your truck...

I wonder if there's a way to flip their positions. I usually like my tach on the left.....

What year is the speedometer? Usually all I ever see is the 120kph/85mph speedo.

Alex.

Re: When you find that piece for your truck...

The speedo is out of a '79, I think you could switch the tach with the speedo only problem I can see you running into is the printed circuit and speedo cable

Re: When you find that piece for your truck...

Thinking about it more it would be manageable but you would have to make a new hole for the speedo cable to come through the firewall, and reconfigure the housing because you wouldn't be able to use the tach clip so you would have to rewire it
