firewall heater delete panels - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm going to cover the heater holes in my firewall. With some guidance from this site, I've found two different types of covers. One type just covers the holes themselves. It looks like you weld them into the existing holes. Here's the ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-72-chevy-...item23411680a4

The other type is a big sheet that fits over the whole panel, including the holes. Here is an aluminum one on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-72-CHEVY-...de94b6&vxp=mtr

I think Vintage Air has a plate as well. What have people used that they liked and disliked? I've got a welder repairing the rust in the floorboards and I'll be talking to him this week about smoothing the firewall.

I bought wome sheet metal and traced it out and welded it up. Your eBay deal looks pretty good if it's already cut out. Maybe a little trimming is necessary.

That's one of the holy grails of the 67-72 chevy truck world. Extremely hard to find and be ready to pay when you find one.

I just ordered the $20.00 steel filler holes from ebay (plus $11.00 shipping). They had great reviews, so I hope it's an easy job for my welder guy to weld in place. Here's the current link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-72-chevy-...3D151415849124

I also picked up a used Vintage Air Heater for $120.00 to install until I can afford a VA air conditioner.

Try making your own. Not hard and you get to practice your welding.

I purchased the kit from that same ebay seller. Looked good and needed very little work to weld into my cab. Nice time saver.

You can go to Infanti machine's website and buy them direct from this seller. I got mine from him, fit great just weld em in.

Ive still got the screw/bolt on ebay aluminum set from ebay that i didnt use. I listed it it in my parts for sale a while back and it didnt sell if anyone is interested.
