Converting my 96 4.3 to a 505 BBC and looking for some solid motor mounts. This is a drag truck project is why I am going to solid mounts. Only ones I have found so far are at auto fab but don't think I need that one with the step it has on the mount. I am thinking it's possibly for a 4wd. Thanks in advance.

Re: 96 gmc motor mount swap
When converting the 88-98 truck to a V-8 motor from the V-6 the stands the move the V-6 back so far into the engine bay need to be removed and regular mounts like any [normal] V-8 car or truck from the 70's up to the late 90's would have. You would put the V-8 mount in the Normal 3 bolt location just as if you were putting in a stock 350 just a lot more fun the way your going. If you do go that way you could do a semi rigid lower half and a solid top half to reduce the risk of broken trans cases. Jim

Re: 96 gmc motor mount swap
The solid motor side seems pretty straight forward and easy to find. Frame side is proving to be more difficult. I will broaden my search if they are all the same from 70's up. Thank for the reply.
