1948 wiring
I have been looking for a diagram for my 1948 3800 with wire colors on it for some time now and am having no luck. I can find the size and routing but can't find anything on colors. Dose anyone have one or a link to one?
Thanks for the help, Woody |

Re: 1948 wiring
I'm not positive that they were color coded before they went to plastic coated wire.
This is supposed to be the diagram out of the factory manual. I don't see any colors. http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...df/48truck.pdf

Re: 1948 wiring
Thanks for the help Mr48chev. That seems to be the only thing I can find as well. I think I will have to pull some of the colors off of the c/20 diagram to keep it somewhat sane for the next person.
Thanks again 72smoker |

Re: 1948 wiring
+1 on no color, or just one color---tan with a redish brown thread woven through the covering.

Re: 1948 wiring
I got most of the wires and lights working again. I used a boat trailer wire harness I had laying around for the tail lights. I used the white/ground wire for the brake lights and replaced the rest of the wires as you would on the trailer. Its not the best job but it will work until I decide to tare it down and rebuild it. One step closer to going gown the road legal again...

Re: 1948 wiring
Cool, thanks. That's pretty much how it turned out.
