1972 c10 swapping to 1976 swb 4x4 frame?

hello everyone im new to the forum. Im working on swapping over my 1972 c10 to a 1976 short box 4x4 frame. I have always loved the look of the swb 4x4. My dad was restoring one along time ago and got cancer and bills pilled up and had to sell it all so i have always wanted to do what he was doing. I found a roller frame on CL that the guy had put new shocks, steering parts on ball joints, sway bar bushings etc... also has been sandblasted and painted. I got my front clip and cab off over the weekend and started comparing the frames i knew it wasn't gonna be direct bolt on but was wondering how you guys did the cab mounts? any help would be very appricated thank you.

I bought a 69 4x4 on a 76 4x4 frame..... The bed and cab line is a little wider than normal. Whoever done this one was on a short budget or wasn't very bright. Needless to say, I wont drive it.... Just a parts truck.

The used what looks like stop sign post, welded together on top of one another and angled over to the mount and bolted on. Like I said, you don't want to fabricate it like they did.

Okay I might be able to get by with using the 76 mounts if it's close enough in messurements. I looked up your truck looks nice!!

I'm sure if you do it right, you would never know it. Patience is the key.

yeh right after you end up chopin and shortening the frame for the 72 to fit on the weird wheelbase and fabing up all new cab mounts

Is the distance between the cab and bed pretty Noticible?

Its not too bad. It's about and inch more than normal, if that. I will see if I can get a picture of it.

You will be so much better off by buying a 67-72 4x4 chassis. The wheel base on a 73-87 frame is 4 or so inches longer.

I wish I had a 67 to 72 swb frame to work with but this 76 had a good deal on it and new parts but correct me if I'm wrong but 1972 swb 115. 1976 swb is 117.5
