Rockwell 221- shift pattern?
I had it written down somewhere but I lost it.
I am also assuming that my SM465 has the pattern of 1 3 2 4 Never owned a four speed or a 4x4 for that matter.

And yes that is the pattern for the SM465, with reverse being down and to the right, i.e. next to 4th.

does the GMC K1500 in your profile have the rockwell?
if so, thats a little weird...should have the 205. i have been under the impression that 69 was the last year for the rockwell, and also teh first for the 205. if you do indeed have the rockwell, it can be a bit tricky to shift outta 2wd. also, when filling with gear oil, park sideways on a hill with the drivers side being up higher, that way you can overfill the case a bit, good "oops" insurance

yep, that's what's in the 4x4. Probably wasn't the same tranny that came from the factory because I know it's been messed with. The front axle is also a drum brake setup even though the truck is a '72. Go figure.

is the floor hacked up? a '72 should have the original np205 shifter hole on the passenger side of the transmission shifter. the rockwell hole is on the driver side of the transmission shifter. they could have swapped the high humps too, though, since it seems like someone got creative with swapping parts to and from your truck.

Nope, the tranny hump must have been replaced because all is well with the holes. And yes, the shifter is on the the driver's side like it should be with the Rockwell. These suckers are noisy!

Let me solve this mystery for you but I am only going to give you some clues. Just for the record though, I never meant it to be a mystery.
1) I use to own GreenMystChevy's truck 2) Take a look at my signature block GreenMystChevy, if you need to know anything about that truck I will be happy to tell you. I know exactly what you have
