Lokar Linkage

Any body ever use the Lokar kit S-6999 linkage on a 700r4? Looks like I may need it to install shifter in the full forward location. I don't have the seat in, but the shifter arm is a curved nostalgic style that looks as if it would hit the seat if not all the way forward. Putting it that far up really shortens the linkage, I guess this kit gives the full throw to the lever. This is a 59 chevy short bed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Subscribing to this as I too have a 700r4 but no linkage or shifter yet. Curious to see what others have used.

FWIW, I installed a Lokar in my '46 with a 700R4. The rod which connects the shift arm to the shifter is around 8". In park I'm about 1" from the dash, in 2nd I just touch the edge of the seat and in 1st I'm in the seat maybe 2 inches. I am using the Lokar kit S-6999. The '46 AD series is a little smaller in the cab area then the later AD.

Fasttoys, did you have to switch to the S-6999 kit because of the shifter touching the seat? Did that help? The kit looks like it adds another rod back to a bracket by the tailpiece and then to the shift lever. I wasn't sure if the kit helped with getting the full throw of lever or with clearance issues...

OK, sorry guys, I jumped the gun. I made an assumption on the part number. It looks like the S-6999 is a bell crank kit. I have the ATS6700AN 23" double bend. I used the standard kit with no additional bell crank adapter. As far as it hitting the seat, I just live with it, the only time I've even used 1st is 20 or so trips down the 1/8 mile (low 10s by the way). One thing though, be careful when mounting the plate in different positions. The screws are fine thread and not forgiving if cross threaded. I would be happy to take a few pictures and post them, but you will have to wait 30 more days. I'm still in China.
