Personal Update

Hey guys and gals, just thought I'd update you all on my surgery. I had a build thread started called the 24 day project. I did get the truck started. Purrs like a kitten again. Anyways, the surgery went really good and I'm doing really good. Got LOTS of pain meds. Still got meds pumping in my leg while being at home. Can't put any weight on it at all for the next 3 months. They did 16 surgery's all at once on the 1st of this month. Can't believe it's the 3rd already. Just thought I'd let you all know I'm doing well.

Thanks a ton to every one on this forum who helped me on my 24 day project get the wiring done and some other things done. Can't wait to get started on it again next year.

Yeah it's a lot. I asked my friend how my foot looks, he said all the he can see is the tips of my toes cause everything is wrapped, but my toes look like they got into a fight with a staple gun and lost terribly. That's all I know for now as far as what iit looks like.

Re: Personal Update

I feel for you I have been immobilized by surgeries before, one on each foot and I just had a recent heart scare that landed me a week long stay in the hospital with several days of that in the ICU. Also as someone who has been on pain meds for over 7 years I hope you would check on stool softener or you may have some trouble coming. Hope all is well and stays that way with the healing. Jim

Jim, I've been taking stool softner since the day of the surgery. I'm aware of what may happen and I think it's about to happen. Haven't went #2 since October 1st when I went last.

Thanks.

As an update. Had my appointment Tuesday. Went alright. Said everything is looking good and the x-rays look awesome. He showed them to me and had to ask where the and leg are because all I saw was metal plates and screws every where.

As for that. Got some stronger pain meds since the iv thing wasn't actually even pumping anything into me leg. Would explain why even though on some meds I was still about an 8 out of 10 pain wise. Got the iv removed so now I can move my leg around a bit better.

Now as far as all that goes. I was looking at getting a wheelchair and HOLY cow they are expensive. I mean I don't need anything really fancy, but even a basic one is still more than $1,000. Then I find out that if I get a Medical Necessity letter from my doctor and take it down to a local Norco store, I can get a wheelchair for free. Too bad I can only do that if I need the wheelchair for 12 months or longer. So that option was out the window and it kinda was my only option as well.

Anyways, hope all of you are still truckin away on your trucks and enjoying them.

Re: Personal Update

Sucks about the chair, your insurance wont help with one? If not call around and see if the medical supply places will rent one.

Glad you had a good update.
