Bumper search

67cab with 68 4x4 frame..

Went through search, found older comments and then through vendor threads looking to see about a good deal on a front bumper. Getting body work finished up by the 15th so wanted to get a bumper on the way To Idaho..
Any updated bumper sales going on? It's not a show truck, then again I want a good triple chrome that will last....Won't be pushing anyone or pulling stumps out...Ha

Re: Bumper search

I got mine at Brothers after reading positive comments on this forum. First one came damaged and with questionable chrome. The replacement, which was shipped immediately, was nice and fits well. I haven't had it on very long and can't comment on its durability. They refer to it as show chrome. They currently have it reduced from $229.99 to$149.99.

Re: Bumper search

Just got a gmc one from brothers and it was good for the money.

I think classic industries may have been slightly cheaper with the 20% off but no code for that right now

Lmc has one for more money with a 5 year guarantee I think

Re: Bumper search

ok going to order front bumper from classic, now they show 2 styles of bumper bolts. Which set should I get? Do I needs 6ea?
4 long and 2 short? High dome ones are chrome, but I don't want them to flake and rust later on. Standard bolts looks as if they come S.S.
I'm guessing the standard bolts will work just fine...leaning towards the S.S. ones. Or just go to hardware store...ha

Re: Bumper search

Coat the backside of it if you never want it to rust. I did mine in black.

High dome chrome are the original style, at least on my 69. I debated as well and went polished stainless (not capped with stainless) with my fairly correct resto. I'd say the choice depends on what your goal is regarding originality. Most will not know or care which are correct. I think most vendors sell only one length. Don't recall what I used.

Re: Bumper search

Brothers bumpers have a life time warranty on the chrome.
