Re: Cab corner install....

I use a hi speed grinder with a cut off disc. Dangerous, but effective.

Ive had good results progressively going more fine with abrasive disks then finish it with a dual action and 220-400 grit..

Re: Cab corner install....

Very nice work, I need to do rust repair on all the usual suspects on my cab and was hoping to get a copy of your DVDs. Do you accept PayPal for payment? Was hoping to expedite the process of receiving them if you do. I'll back up this post with a PM. Thanks in advance and again, very nice work.

I live near Raleigh, if you need another truck to use for your next dvd. I'll be glad to hold the camera while you repair all the rust you want.

ebfabman -- does your DVD include 67/72 roof repairs? I checked your website it didn't specify.

You guys here make welding look so easy. If I could weld like that I would do rust repair for everybody.

For repairs like that so much of the job depends on your welder being setup properly (wire speed/voltage). Practice on old sheet metal is your best bet. Or take a welding course at your local community college or votech. You'd be surprised what you can do.

Re: Cab corner install....

ebfabman,

I have to do my cab corners. I will probably wait a year or so until the truck needs to be repainted. One question (I will most likely buy your CD's) I have is it looks like you made your seam at the ridge. Is that the best place vs. doing it where the panels are flat?

Just curious,
Jim
