Re: hood question?

As a 12 year old car kid when 1960 GMC's were new, I questioned how they ever expected to sell any trucks with such an ugly hood. I couldn't believe it ever got approved for production. Over time I've come to appreciate how rare they are now since so many people replaced them back in the 60's - 70's.

Today I like to see them on restored GMC's, but my truck is a 1960 GMC and it will never wear one again. Partly because of the style, and partly because they ingest so much crud in the winter I finally had to get a closed air cleaner lid to keep the front of the air filter from packing up.
